Flights

Airports

There are three major airports conveniently located near the Gaylord National Resort in Washington, DC: Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Baltimore Airport (BWI).

We strongly suggest flying into DCA as it's a quick 15-minute ride to the hotel.
Don't forget to check Southwest Airlines for flights!

Trains

Amtrak

Amtrak is a great alternative to flying for those traveling from mid-Atlantic cities. Your destination station is Union Station (Washington DC). It's about a 20-minute drive from Union Station to the hotel.

Washington, DC

National Monuments

Visit the National Mall and see the beautiful monuments and memorials of Washington DC, including the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and the World War II Memorial (Mohit's favorite). If you visit the Jefferson Memorial, be sure to enjoy a picnic or boat ride in the beautiful Tidal Basin, which is surrounded by cherry blossom trees that bloom in the spring. If you have time, we highly recommend reserving a tour of the U.S. Capitol building (www.visitthecapitol.gov/visit/book-a-tour); this is a must-see.

Big Bus Tours is a great option to easily navigate these iconic sites and enjoy a seamless experience (www.bigbustours.com/en/washington-dc).

Smithsonian Museums

We recommend exploring the Smithsonian museums, all of which are free and located around the National Mall. Some of our favorites include the National Archives, the National Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of Natural History, and the National Portrait Gallery!

We also recommend visiting the International Spy Museum to learn about the history of espionage and to see gadgets used by spies throughout history.

Some of Our Favorite DC neighborhoods

The Wharf offers countless things to do and see — both on and off the water. As one of Washington's newest developed neighborhoods, The Wharf has amazing restaurants, bar, shops, and music venues. We love getting the nachos and margaritas at Mi Vida!

Georgetown is a charming neighborhood located in northwest Washington, D.C. that is popular for its historic architecture, scenic waterfront, and vibrant dining and shopping scene.

City Center: if you've got the itch to go shopping, this is your spot! With lots of top-end restaurants to match the stores, this is a fun way to spend the day!

Located in a restored 1930s food hall in the NoMa neighborhood, Union Market has a large range of local food vendors offering everything from Korean tacos to Chesapeake oysters!

Dining

Restaurants & Bars

Food, food, and food! Washington DC has a diverse culinary scene that has something delicious for everyone (including 23 Michelin-starred restaurants)! Some of our favorites include Albi, Iron Gate, Mi Vida (especially at the Wharf), Il Canale, Lapis, RPM, Rasika, Old Ebbitt Grill, and Rumi's Kitchen!

For that extra special cocktail, definitely visit the bartenders at Denson.

National Harbor

National Harbor

The beautiful waterfront location of our wedding along the Potomac River, National Harbor is home to great restaurants, retail shops, and a full-service marina. You can take a ride on the Capital Ferris Wheel, go on a shopping spree at the Tanger Outlet Mall, go paddle boarding on the river, or plan a ferry day trip to Old Town Alexandria. Guests staying with us at the Gaylord National Harbor can use the National Harbor Circulator Bus to get between the hotel, MGM Casino, National Harbor, and to the Tanger Outlets! The shuttle bus runs daily 11 am – 4 am.

MGM Casino

Feeling lucky at our wedding? If you're staying at the Gaylord National Resort, there is a free shuttle on the National Harbor Circulator Bus to the MGM National Harbor. The shuttle bus runs daily 11 am – 4 am.

You may find Reema betting our life savings at the Blackjack table (please remind her the wedding starts at 11:30 AM on Saturday)!
