It was a warm summer evening in August 2021, and the bustling streets of New York City were alive with energy. After connecting together online, we decided to meet for a drink at the LelaBar in the West Village. The conversation flowed easily, and we found ourselves laughing and smiling throughout the evening. It was clear that we had a connection. It felt like we had known each other for years, not just a few hours, and one night out quickly turned to countless dates.
Just as things were starting to get serious, however, Reema went on a pre-planned trip to explore the southwest United States. Mohit knew Reema was special, so after just a month of dating, he invited her as his plus-one to his friends' Camilo and Camilla’s wedding in Mexico City (they were cool with it). It was our first big adventure together, and it was the beginning of many more to come.
Once we returned to New York, life just got better and better. We spent most weeknights and weekends going out with friends, exploring neighborhoods in New York City, trying out new restaurants, hopping around bars, and enjoying our inseparable time together. Our adventures together took us riding scooters down Venice Beach in Los Angeles, exploring the cities of Portugal, meeting our families in Florida, and wine-tasting in Napa.
Eventually, Mohit received a job offer to work in Washington, DC. After much thought, he decided to take the leap and asked Reema to come with him. So we packed up our bags, said goodbye to New York City, and moved to the nation's capital together. It was just a few months later in October 2022 on the picturesque Amalfi coast in Italy, surrounded by the beautiful Mediterranean Sea, that Mohit got down on one knee and proposed to Reema.
Now, we're planning our upcoming wedding and couldn't be happier. We're grateful for the chance encounter that brought us together in New York City, and we can't wait to celebrate our special day with you!
